Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I see the remaining time during focus?
That's by design. Zonein hides the clock during focus to help you stay present. Tap the amber button at the bottom to briefly reveal the remaining time — it appears for a few seconds then fades back into fog.
How do I stop a focus session early?
Tap the ✕ button in the top-left corner during a focus or rest session. You will be asked to confirm before ending.
Does the timer work in the background?
Yes. Zonein uses absolute time tracking, so the timer stays accurate even when the app is in the background or the screen is locked. You will receive a notification when the timer completes.
How do I change the focus or rest duration?
On the main screen, drag up or down on the large number to adjust the focus duration. You can also tap the gear icon to open Settings and use the +/− buttons to adjust both focus and rest durations.
Does Zonein collect any data?
No. All your preferences are stored locally on your device. Nothing is sent to any server.
What iOS version do I need?
Zonein requires iOS 18 or later.
Troubleshooting
No sound when the timer completes
Make sure your iPhone is not in Silent Mode (check the physical switch on the side). Also verify that Sound is enabled in the app's Settings.
Haptic feedback is not working
Check that Haptic is enabled in the app's Settings. Also verify that System Haptics is enabled in iOS Settings > Sounds & Haptics.
I didn't receive a notification when the timer finished
Make sure notifications are enabled for Zonein in iOS Settings > Notifications > Zonein. The app requests permission on first launch.
The app looks different from what I expected in dark/light mode
Open Settings (gear icon on the main screen) and check the Appearance setting. You can choose System, Light, or Dark.
